This month in science we will be learning about force, machines and engineering. Students will develop their first concept of “force,” and the idea that by playing with forces and thinking about them, we can accomplish surprisingly big things.

In social studies, we will be writing a book about how we made it to Kindergarten. We will be writing about what we were like as a baby, toddler, preschooler and as a kindergartner.

In math, we will be learning about comparing numbers using the greater than, less then and equal to symbols. We will be reviewing coins and working on adding coins of different values. We will also be looking at 3D shapes and comparing them to 2D shapes.

In literacy, our phonics focus will be bossy e and bossy r. We will also be working on writing an alphabet book.
