“Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.” – St. Teresa of Calcutta
Journeys: We are reading back to school stories, practicing our handwriting, taking assessments, and reviewing items previously learned. We are also choosing books and discovering how to best use our book boxes and how to read quietly with the use of a telephone.
My Math: We are reviewing numbers and how to add using parts(groups) to make a whole(total.) Students are working in groups to discover answers and to show how they came to understand the answer.
Science: We are discovering how to ask questions and look at the world around us with a scientific lens. We are exploring sound vibrations and the volumes of sound.
Religion: We have met our buddies, started attending mass, praying before all meals, and learning from the Second Step program how to be kind listeners.
Social Studies: We have started our assessments, made our classroom rules, and celebrated our diversity as a learning community.
Art: We have created tear art self portraits, painted leaves, and colored many works of art.
